Baleal beach locals, the brothers created the first Portuguese Surf Camp in 1993, bringing together the best of two worlds... On the one hand, living by the seaside and being able to go surfing regularly, and on the other working in a business that is extremely gratifying to them on an existential and human level.

Teaching people how to surf while giving them an unforgettable experience is the main goal of Baleal Surf Camp, and what has motivated them throughout these last years.

Quality Surf Classes
Learning to surf isn’t easy. It requires persistence and time. But a determining factor for successful learning is having a small student to teacher ratio. First because of safety issues, and second because that way you really get a chance to make progress, with personalized attention from a two person teaching team, a surfing instructor and a surfing assistant.

Baleal Surf Camp is committed to the quality of its surfing classes, so they have a maximum ratio of 8 students to each two-person team of surfing instructors and surfing assistants. As an added benefit, your progress is recorded on video, helping you to correct and improve your performance.

The results have been excellent, and this personalized method gives rise to confidence and progress among students, and to fast -- sometimes surprisingly fast -- learning. Almost 80% of students are ready to go surfing in just one week. The satisfying feeling of knowing that our students really enjoy it when they finally start to really surf is our greatest reward, and motivates the instructors at Baleal to constantly improve their methods.
