Overview
Safari Surf School is the premier surf school and surf camp in Costa Rica. In addition to instilling a passion for surfing, you'll also be immersed in native culture and treated to local style. Being taught to surf by true professionals with a "Pura Vida" attitude is the only way to go!
Brothers, Tim and Tyler Marsh run Safari Surf School. Both were raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Tim has been surfing for over 30 years. During his "grommet" years in Hawaii, he competed in local Hawaiian Surfing Association and NSSA events. After high school graduation, Tim moved to California to further his education and continue his competitive surfing career. He competed in Pro-Am events and the Bud-Pro Tour, prominent at the time.
Tyler's ability is also exceptional. Together, and with their life-long passion for surfing, they have surfed the world over… Australia, Baja, Bali, California, Fiji, Hawaii, Mexico and Tahiti. Not until they bought land in Costa Rica in 1995, did they fulfill the pursuit of their dream... uncrowded surf and a relaxed lifestyle. Their extensive, hands-on, casual style of teaching personal friends and tourists alike, made "the lights" go on one day. An idea was born. Why not bring people to the most beautiful place in the world, and share their passion for surfing? Surfing has become very commercialized in the last decade. Tim and Tyler thought it would be refreshing to instill the true essence of surfing for newcomers, or revitalize the energies of the occasional surfer with the creation of their Safari Surf School.
Their approach to teaching others to surf is very simple: patience and a sense of humor mixed with a vast knowledge of ocean environment. They truly enjoy what they are doing, and you'll immediately feel that joy too. Come with an open mind and an open heart, and they guarantee you'll not only learn to surf and understand the ocean, your whole outlook on life may change as well.
So, join them at Safari Surf School and enlighten yourself physically and mentally. All instructors are Red Cross Certified in CPR and proficient in life-saving techniques. Safety is as important to them as the fun.

Reservation Policy
Safari Surf School allows its guests to come and go on their own schedule. Please be advised that if you are planning on coming during the holiday or Easter vacation time frame to reserve well in advance.
Cancellation Policy
Safari Surf School will refund 100% of any deposit within 30 days of scheduled arrival. If Safari Surf School has incurred costs that are not recoverable such as airfares or hotel penalties, these costs will be passed on to the guest.
Any cancellations between 30 and 14 days prior to scheduled arrival shall be subject to 15% penalty of said deposit in addition to any unrecoverable costs as stated above.
Any cancellation within 14 days of scheduled arrival shall be subject to 50% penalty of said deposit in addition to any unrecoverable costs as stated above.
